About project

It is well known that the Croatian contribution to achieving Lisbon Strategy goals has been minimal, particularly with respect to private sector investment in R&D. Interaction among industry, public research organizations and higher education institutions is inadequate due to underdeveloped innovation systems in the latter two, where the primary focus is on basic research excellence and educational quality. However, an important link is missing: the protection and commercialization of knowledge.

The objective of the project is to contribute to the competitiveness of the Croatian economy by introducing more efficient knowledge transfer from R&D to the business sector. The project results – building effective innovation systems and knowledge transfer in partner institutions – will contribute to sustainable regional development and are expected to strengthen the links among science, academia and the business sector considerably. The public database will enable the business sector to obtain better insight into the service capabilities of the academic community, whose extrabudgetary income will increase.
